Facebook

The St Leonards Primary School Facebook page is a great way of communicating to families about whole school events, important messages and general goings on around the school. The page is monitored by staff. Most classes have class Facebook pages, please contact your child's teacher to find out if they have set one up.

Seesaw

Seesaw is being trialled by some classes in 2018.

Seesaw gives families an immediate and personalized window into their child’s school day. Seesaw empowers students to independently document their learning with built-in creative tools. Students can upload their work for their families to see. The teacher must approve all items before they are sent. It is safe and secure introduction to 21st century learning.

Edmodo

Some classes are continuing to use Edmodo in 2018.

Edmodo is a free and secure learning network for teachers, students, and schools. It provides a safe way for teachers and students to connect, share content, access homework, manage due dates, and receive class information.

Edmodo is accessible online and through any mobile device with Internet capabilities – including free apps for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Android devices. Students can access their account from any mobile device or computer, Edmodo will not be used as a social network like Facebook or MySpace. This tool will be used strictly for educational purposes.

SMS System

We use the SMS system for messaging families. This system is primarily used to communicate student absences and important reminders of upcoming events at the school.  Families will recieve an SMS regarding their child being absent if they have not communicated to the school (by phone or SMS). Please include your child's name, the reason for the absence ( e.g. illness or family reasons) and room number.
